Dormant Prune in FebruaryDormant Prune in February

Ornamental Grasses and Shrub Roses should be pruned now for better performance this season.

Grasses should be:

Cut down to approx. 6-12" mound (depending on size).  **Tip- Tie twine or wrap tape around the grass before you shear them.  Doing this will ensure an even trim and gets rid of the cleanup!

Shrub Roses should be:

Cut down to approx. 12-20" (depending on size).  Concentrate on thinning the roses out to 4-8 main, largest stems.  Remove all the dead (black wood).  Don't be afraid to get aggressive with your plant, it will respond tremendously if it is thinned out and cut back.

Call the office if you have questions.
